NYFW x Lowes
It was already known that this months New York Fashion Week will be like no other. Now, NYFW has partnered up with home improvement giant, Lowe’s, to bring their collections to life. The store is collaborating with New York designers, Jason Wu, Rebecca Minkoff and Christian Siriano to bring handpicked items that will be used in their show and also available for purchase at Lowe’s. All of the items used in the three designers outdoor shows will be available for purchase starting at midnight on September 8th.
The store is also partnering with them to livestream and stage their outdoor runway’s next month. "The intersection between home and style has never been more prevalent than it has this year, and partnering with some of the world's most modern and visionary leaders of fashion to demonstrate how everyone can bring fashion "home" is very exciting to us," said Marisa Thalberg, Lowe's Chief Brand and Marketing Officer.
The pieces are inspired by each of the Wu’s, Minkoff’s, and Siriano’s love for design and definition of home. Thalberg added, “"Our homes can be our greatest form of self-expression, in fact. We hope that seeing how these designers express themselves and bring their ultimate runway visions to life through the world of products we sell every day at Lowe's will be inspiring to people everywhere.”
Jason Wu, who is the first show of the week on September 14th, says he has always been inspired by his home. “it's not just a place I live, but where I've worked to bring my Spring 2021 collection to life. I have always believed that beautifully considered design should be accessible, and I'm excited to debut a curated collection with Lowe's that offer a glimpse into what home means to me," he said in the press release.
The Lowe’s social media will be documenting the designers Fashion Week shows, as well as the pieces that will be available. Not only has digital fashion weeks allowed high-fashion into our homes, but now this collaboration has offered a more permanent placement of the collaboration between high-fashion and home design.
